Very often we do not pay proper attention to our feet especially the heels that if neglected, in the long run, they can present very annoying cracks: if further neglected they can form cracks up to causing bleeding. Typically, the problem arises when the skin surrounding the heels does not receive the necessary care and attention that consists in the constant application of moisturizing and nourishing creams.
THE cracked heels they should not be neglected because open and bleeding cracks can become infected, thus causing pain, difficulty in resting the foot and inadequate posture. Fortunately, there are several home remedies and treatments that can heal cracked heels in an effective and harmless way.
Remedies for cracked heels, home treatments
- Treatment with lemon and glycerin
Fill a large container with 1 and a half liters of hot water, then add a handful of coarse salt, 3 tablespoons of glycerin, the juice of one lemon and 100 ml of rose water. Once the mixture is prepared, immerse your feet for about 20 minutes. Use a pumice stone to soften the dry skin of the heels so as to facilitate the elimination of calluses.
Alternatively, you can prepare a compound based on glycerin, lemon juice and rose water to be applied directly on the hard skin of the heels. After soaking your feet in the solution, put on socks without drying your feet and let them sit overnight.
Repeat the same treatment for a week.
- Healthy oils
Apply a mixture of coconut oil and olive oil directly on the heels and massage for a few minutes.
Once applied, wear cotton socks and let the oil act overnight. The next day, rinse your feet and repeat the treatment in the evening; do it for a week.
- Cream with banana and avocado
Make a cream with a ripe banana and avocado and apply it on the cracked skin of the heels. Leave it on for half an hour then rinse with warm water.
- Vaseline and lemon
In a basin pour hot water with a handful of coarse salt and soak your feet for 15 or 20 minutes.
After drying your feet well, grease your heels with a spoonful of Vaseline and lemon juice. Cover your feet with cotton socks and let them sit overnight.
In a container pour a cup of honey with one and a half liters of warm water
Soak your feet for 15 to 20 minutes and massage gently.
Remedies for cracked heels, exfoliating cream
In a bowl, pour a few tablespoons of oat powder and jojoba oil then mix well until you get a consistent cream. Apply the exfoliating cream with soft circular massages in the cracked area. Leave for 10 minutes then rinse with warm water.
