The choice of lighting bodies must take into account two aspects: energy saving and quality of the light supplied. Both are important because if it is true that installing lighting bodies efficient, it is possible to reduce the energy bill, it is equally true that the quality of lighting affects living comfort (if we are talking about homes) and people's productivity (if we are talking about offices). The right mix of economy and quality can give the best results.
In the composition of lighting bodies, fluorescent lamps have long been the ones that best met the criteria of savings and good lighting. Later they were equaled by the technology of light emitting diodes, the LED lamps, which have a very long life and now also the same savings-quality ratio of fluorescent lamps (the most similar to natural light in True Lite technology).
The present and probably also the future of lighting bodies belong to LED technology and it is not a small future in light of forecasts. In fact, in the coming years, energy efficiency will give rise to a considerable turnover and, in the industrial field, the technologies associated with the greatest potential for 'expected' energy savings are cogeneration and lighting.
In offices and warehouses, LED lamps will take the place of the others and make i more efficient lighting bodies. LED lamps, which have about the same efficiency as fluorescent lamps, convert up to 50% of the energy into light. To make a comparison, keep in mind that a traditional incandescent lamp (glass bulb + tungsten wire + noble gas) transforms only 5% of the electrical energy into light, because most of the energy is dispersed in the form of heat.
THE lighting bodies with halogen lamps, which are a particular type of incandescent lamps, they are able to transform about 15% of electricity into light and with IRC technology, short for 'infrared coating', which indicates an infrared coating, they reach 20 %. IRC halogen lamps have a long life, a spectrum of light emitted that is close to that of natural light, but they also emit UV rays which, if not shielded, can be harmful to health.
