Biodry technology against rising damp

L'rising damp or capillary rising damp it is a serious problem that (often) occurs in buildings when the walls are in direct contact with the ground. The damage is not only aesthetic because the washout caused by humidity alters the pH of the concrete and activates a deterioration of the iron reinforcements, as well as the formation of unhealthy and smelly mold on damp walls. A building attacked byrising damp it's a risky building.

However, the solution exists, it is technological, it is not invasive because it does not involve building interventions, it is economical, ecological and close at hand. Do not worry then, because thecapillary rising damp it is a very solvable problem, with the right tools and the correct assistance of specialized personnel. The most popular technology is called Biodry.

Biodry is nothing more than a natural drying system for walls with problems capillary rising damp. In practice, it is a small device that is applied in environments where there is thehumidity and which has the ability to reverse the flow of water molecules towards the ground, thus transporting thehumidity.

Technically the system works like this: by applying Biodry an area with a positive pole is generated inside the walls and an area with a negative pole in the ground below the house. The walls thus form the positive pole (+), the floor forms the negative pole (-) and the so-called 'zero potential line' is moved into the ground under the floor. This creates a downward current movement that constantly attracts moisture to the ground.

The drying up of the walls takes place in a time that varies on average from 6 months to 18 months. The amount of rising damp present in the wall, the salt crystals dissolved in the plaster and the possible presence of coatings or cement-based plasters can vary the times. In short, patience is enough, since Biodry it does not require masonry work, nor chemical additives, nor electromagnetic waves or electricity.

Of course, the fight againstcapillary rising damp it's not a do-it-yourself thing, not just because Biodry Technology requires the device but also because assistance is needed for correct installation and during the drying period for the measurement and monitoring of some important parameters: verification of electrical charges and electric potential, control of the dew point, chemical analysis of the materials that make up the wall and more. Wall & Wall Sagl, the Swiss company that distributes Biodry, also provides this type of assistance.

But how is humidity measured? You need a hygrometer and if you don't have one you can buy one online. In my opinion, this weather station with barometer, hygrometer and thermometer is perfect to keep the temperature and air pressure under control
