The change will also have environmental implications.

Why the telework you can monitor and manage. 31% of companies in Italy (almost 37% globally) use specific reporting systems to monitor the efficiency of telework, while 43% of managers who work remotely use video calls to communicate with their teams (43% also globally). The telework however, it works if there is trust: according to 41% of companies, this element is crucial.

What about interpersonal relationships? Many of the respondents believe that flexible work in telework it is creating a new kind of interaction between office managers and their subordinates. 23% of respondents believe that remote supervision helps to maintain a more professional relationship, 25% think that young employees are more empowered by telework.

What are the (business) benefits heralded by supporters of the telework? Above all, lower operating costs, then there is also talk of greater productivity and staff loyalty. Increasingly, however, the telework it is a necessity resulting from the new working styles linked to mobility. From an environmental point of view, the idea that the internet would eliminate traffic from the streets turned out to be a bit too optimistic. Undoubtedly, however, the spread of telework it is destined to change the way people travel and with them the share of pollution linked to transport.
