How to make homemade toothpaste: three recipes to prepare an all natural and organic homemade toothpaste.

Among the ingredients we have sodium bicarbonate and hydrogen peroxide for whitening effect, green clay, an exceptional product which is also able to enhance the natural whiteness of the teeth, then there is the essential oil of Tea Tree, a powerful antibacterial, Peppermint, effective in toning and refreshing the mouth and, finally, the essential oil of Cloves, considered one of the best since ancient times natural remediesagainst toothache.

The homemade toothpaste, even if natural, will be rubbed on the teeth using the special toothbrush and must not be ingested.How you do it?

  1. Get yourself a glass jar, the baby food one, for example, is perfect. Disinfect it well, rinse it and dry it perfectly (even the cap).
  2. Pour the baking soda and clay inside in a ratio of 1: 3. One part of baking soda for every 3 parts of green clay. Mix the two ingredients well until they are mixed evenly.
  3. Now add the essential oils very carefully, 3 drops per type.
  4. Stir to absorb the essential oils.
  5. Add as much hydrogen peroxide as it takes to make a very thick paste, but stable enough to add to your toothbrush.

Why is it effective?
The bicarbonate and hydrogen peroxide whiten the teeth, the tee tree has an antibacterial action, the cloves are highly anti-inflammatory while the clay purifies and the mint refreshes, improves the health of the gums and prevents bad breath. For anatural toothpaste without bicarbonate, you can simply omit this ingredient and use only green clay.

How to make natural toothpaste with coconut oil

This recipe can be made with the same procedure seen above but with other ingredients.

  • Ventilated clay
  • Essential oils
  • Coconut oil

As you can see, it is atoothpaste without bicarbonate and without hydrogen peroxide.Coconut oil is used as the only liquid to mix the ventilated clay. Coconut oil can be used for the health of the teeth, hair and skin. For all information: coconut oil.

Useful information: always use a small spoon to put the toothpaste on the toothbrush and do not use the toothbrush itself. In this way, you will avoid contaminating the homemade toothpaste. Always close the jar tightly otherwise the pasta will dry out. Prepare it in small quantities and keep it in the fridge for up to two weeks.

Homemade toothpaste for children

For anatural toothpastemore delicate, you can follow the procedure seen above but use more "sensitive" ingredients such as:

  • White clay
  • Vegetable glycerin

Just mix the two ingredients. To get a perfect paste, use white ventilated clay.

Warning!
In some blogs it is written to "blend the ingredients", of course this would simplify things for you but the clay should never come into contact with metals. This means that you don't have to use metal bowls, spoons, and that the lid of the baby food jar should be wrapped in a thin cloth handkerchief.

Homemade mouthwash

For good oral hygiene, in addition to toothpaste, we need mouthwash. Here is the recipe for making a natural mouthwash:
