The official celebrations of theWorld Environment Day 2015will take place inExpo Milan. Italy is in fact the country that hosts theWorld Environment Day 2015and the recurrence ofMilan Expoit is by no means a coincidence, just think of the affinities between the themes ofMilan Expowith those ofWorld Environment Day 2015.
'Seven billion dreams. One planet. Consume carefully '
This is the slogan of World Environment Day which emphasizes the imminent problem of overpopulation, the seven billion dreamers currently present in the world are destined to increase and reach 9.6 billion by 2050. The warning is clear : the Planet is unique and we must act with caution.
‘Feeding the planet, energy for life "
Similarly, the slogan ofExpo Milan 2015reads:Feeding the planet Energy for life. Also in this case the phrase refers to the problem of overpopulation: in the world there are many mouths to feed, while the South of the World is hungry for food, the most developed countries are hungry for energy.
The well-being of humanity, the environment and the functioning of the economy essentially depend on the responsible management of the planet's natural resources.
The problem is that people consume far more natural resources than the planet can sustainably provide.
During the'Expo Milan 2015three o'clock will be celebrated UN Days and one of these is right there World Environment Day which will take place, as every year, on June 5th.
On 5 June, on the occasion of the World Environment Day 2015, the site of Milan Expo will take on the colors of the United Nations and all the countries and other official participants in the universal exhibition will celebrate their commitment to safeguarding the planet by showing their commitment to environmental challenges.
With theWorld Environment Day 2015, June 5th is undoubtedly one of the most important days to visit Expo Milan. This date is the main tool of the United Nations to raise awareness of environmental problems around the world and to promote political action on environmental sustainability. Regardless of theprogram of the World Environment Day 2015, each of us should be stimulated to do something positive for the environment, transforming individual actions into a collective force and thus generating an exponential positive impact on the planet.
There World Environment Daywas established in 1972 and has grown to include a rich calendar of events that are celebrated in honor of the planet in over 100 countries.
World Environment Day is celebrated every year in a different city, for this reason 2015 Milan was chosen and the chosen date, 5 June, as always, coincides with the one in which the United Nations Conference on the Human Environment began in Stockholm.
From that summit, the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) took shape, the organization created to respond to environmental problems and to promote policies that improve the quality of life without compromising that of future generations.
